Sansa Clip+ Mp3 Player Review

My 4GB Sansa Clip+ Mp3 Player Review: I set out to purchase a small and lightweight MP3 player for use when bicycling, jogging, and mowing the yard (with a good run time per charge). I feel that a good MP3 Player should contain expandable storage, utilize a digital display to provide feedback for which song is previous or next in a list, volume level, current song, etc. In my opinion, the best Mp3 Players do not require the usage of proprietary software in order to manage your music. A consumer should be able to obtain music from any legal source, and enjoy it on their MP3 player!

My first impression of the Sandisk Sansa® Clip+ MP3 Player was that this thing truly is tiny. The Sansa Clip+ size Measures in at roughly 2 inches long, 1 1/4 inches wide, and 1/2 inch thick. The quality construction of the device appeared decent. This device isn't built like a luxury apple product, but doesn't look or feel cheap. The casing, and buttons are plastic (device is lightweight at less than 1 ounce). The clip feels sturdy, and well designed with overlapping teeth.

After charging up the Sansa Clip+ via an available USB port on my computer, and powering the device up, I was greeted with a simple menu containing settings, music, slot radio, fm radio, and voice recording options. Music can be played back alphabetically, by artist, in the order songs were added, by album, by Genre, by your rating, by folder, or by playlists.

Perhaps one of the coolest features of this device is the simplicity of adding music. Simply drag and drop your MP3, WMA, secure WMA, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC files directly into the Music folder on the device. Music in that folder is automatically detected. The Sansa Clip+ MP3 Player can hold up to 1000 MP3's, or 2000 WMA files, although additional music storage can easily be added by plugging in a fat32 formatted MicroSD card. Music stored on the MicroSD card is auto detected.

Battery Life: Sandisk claims up to 15 hours of playback time, per charge. However, I typically see 8-10 hours from a charge at 3/4 volume, playing mp3 files of various bit rates, using high quality Klipsch S4 Earbuds.
