In the following simple solution, I'll show you how to quickly remove VirtualPCGuard. Virtual PC Guard is another rogue antivirus program that has been created to trick a user into thinking they have a virus on their computer. VirtualPCGuard is malware that displays fake security alerts in an attempt to trick a user into thinking they must purchase the program to remove the reported problems.

How to remove VirtualPCGuard:

  1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and end the following process:
  2. VirtualPCGuard .exe

  3. Click Start > Run, type regedit and press Enter. Find and delete the following entry from the registry:
  4. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "VirtualPCGuard"

  5. Delete the following files:
    • c:\Program Files\VirtualPCGuard\VirtualPCGuard.exe
    • c:\Program Files\VirtualPCGuard\VirtualPCGuard.url
    • c:\Program Files\VirtualPCGuard\uninst.exe
    • c:\Program Files\VirtualPCGuard\Lang
    • c:\Program Files\VirtualPCGuard\Lang\English.ini
    • %UserProfile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\VirtualPCGuard 1.32.lnk
    • %UserProfile%\Desktop\VirtualPCGuard.lnk
    • %UserProfile%\My Documents\VirtualPCGuard
    • %UserProfile%\My Documents\VirtualPCGuard\SDBHO.dll
    • %UserProfile%\My Documents\VirtualPCGuard\sdcfg.dat
    • %UserProfile%\My Documents\VirtualPCGuard\Logs
    • %UserProfile%\My Documents\VirtualPCGuard\Quarantine
    • %UserProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\VirtualPCGuard

If all goes well, VirtualPCGuard should now be removed.
